I have accepted a new position at Hawthorne High School. I'll be heading the theatre department as a member of the Visual and Performing Arts Academy. My sections include beginning drama, advanced drama, stage craft, and American Literature. I made the choice to leave Green Dot Public Schools and my ODLHA family for my family and the opportunity. After having my daughter, I faced challenges I never imagined would even be an issue. Long story short, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and breast-feeding became the most difficult thing I had ever faced, more challenging then being pregnant. Driving from home to ODLHA meant a commute of nearly an hour each way. I had panic attacks considering how long it could take me to get to my daughter if there was ever an emergency. When the opportunity to move to Hawthorne High arose, I jumped on it. When I found out I could be teaching drama and stage crew (my dream job), I knew it was the right move. Here's to a new school year! Wish me luck.
